WATCH REPAIRS

Mechanical and quartz watches are sympathetically serviced and repaired in our clean, modern, air conditioned workshop by a watchmaker with forty years experience.  All servicing work carries a no
quibble twelve month guaranteed and for part jobs we offer a ninety day guarantee.  The only time we  refuse is when a watch has been mistreated or abused.   Our attention to detail has helped us built an enviable reputation and a loyal customer base over thirty two years of being in business in Neath, South ales.  Most watches are catered for, provided parts are available,

On arrival at our workshop, we note details of your watch before work commences.  Next we  examine your watch externally for signs of wear and record any found as well as establishing if spare parts are required.  Once we know the cost we contact you with a price before proceeding.

THE CLEANING PROCESS

The cleaning process is achieved by using a special machine which cleans and rinses individual parts using three separate jars of solutions. To finish, the watch movement is dried in a hot air chamber and this  leaves your watch movement in a dry and clean condition.

As the movement is being cleaned, we turn our attention to the watch case and bracelet.  These are now placed in an ultrasonic tank to remove any dirt.  When clean, the bracelet and watch case are dried thoroughly.  If required the bracelet can be fully refurbished at an extra cost.

OILING TIMING AND REASSEMBLY

The watch movement is re-assembled and lubricated using several different oils and greases. New replacement parts are fitted at this stage and close attention is paid to wear within the movement and corrected accordingly. When assembled the movement is demagnetised before checking it's time keeping.  To ensure an acceptable rate, we use a modern digital  watch timing machine, which produces an immediate read out which tells us how well your watch is performing, adjustments are then made as required. Finally the movement is refitted to the watch case and tested for a further period before returning to the customer.

Water resistance can be tested as required, but because of the many variable's which are often out of our control, we now follow the lead of many manufacturers who no longer offer a guarantee with this service.   For further information on water resistance please visit our water resistance web page at:

We have a wide ranging experience of providing a reliable repair service to the trade and public and understand fully the importance of honesty in building confidence.  Your watch is protected by our insurance company whilst in our care and then by Royal Mail Special Delivery on it's return to you.
